These benches we did in the public waiting area for the ferries might be my favourite thing I’ve built. It’s wasn’t a complex job, but I think they’re quite beautiful in their setting. They have a spectacular view, and they’re used every day by travellers, by kids hanging out, or by the less fortunate, resting their tired bodies for a while. I’ve often brought my lunch here when working in the city centre. I love to have been a part of making something that the community feels an ownership to.
Built a new bar for Hålogaland theatre, complete with shelves cabinets, workbench etc.
Made this kitchen island for a private customer. My first time making finger jointed drawers.
My first home project. Made our spare bedroom more efficient by building us a murphybed with shelves, drawers and closet doors, with an optional work desk solution.
Making storage solutions for customer living in a small apartment.
Made these benches/planters for "Rødbanken". First time working with micro concrete. Pretty cool material :)
…figuring out how the micro-concrete works with Samuel
Made this cutting board as a gift for some friends who gave me a room to stay in my first months living in Tromsø, working as a furniture builder.
Made a work space for a private home. Three drawers and little boxes in the desk for electrical extension sockets.
Sometimes we get to do cool stuff like stripping the cladding of an old barn that’s about to be torn down, and repurpose it for another project. This one we used for a big job for “Visit Tromsø” at Havneterminalen.
Everywhere can be an office, -everything can be a notebook :)
An old picture of Samuel showing me the ropes when I’d just started working at Ekte.
Ended up in the local newspaper when I passed my apprentice exam. Seems I was the first to graduate as a furniture builder in northern Norway in the last fifteen years.
